As Malaysia's climate is hot and humid almost all year round, it is ideal to have light clothing to be worn throughout the year.
Most currencies can be exchanged at the banks or local moneychangers, same goes for Traveler’s Cheques, Credit Card are accepted in most establishments.
Dining in Malaysia is a highlight in any visitors visit. From traditional Malay to Chinese, Indian and Western dishes, Malaysia has it all.
Tippings are not common here because mostly the bills are included Government and service tax.
It is generally safe to drink water straight from the tap. Bottled mineral water, however, is easily available in shops.
Always taking care of personal belongings wherever you go.
Long sleeves and loose pants or long skirts pants are acceptable in places of worship.
There are few public transports available to get around , such as Light Rail Transit (LRT), KTM trains, KL Monorail, buses and taxis.
Always do agree on the taxi fare before setting off or you may end up paying more than you should.
In the event you need any medical care, there are private clinics in most towns. It is a good idea to take out a medical insurance before you travel as Malaysia does not have reciprocal health service agreements with other nations. For over-the-counter prescriptions, there are pharmacies and ‘Chinese medical halls.’
